Now, on to the helmets....
NEW! Item # 708 M35 Double decal army helmet
This M35 helmet is a Q64 which originally left the factory with the standard Quist pattern "Bigfoot" eagle decal. However the helmet was "freshened up" at some point prior to 1940. Most likely for parade purposes. This helmet was issued to a Reiter in a cavalry unit as noted by the painted ID at the inside rear. The eagle decal is a C.A.Pocher type. The original factory decal can be slightly seen in relief beneath the Pocher decal. The national color shield is a slightly round-bottomed type and likewise the factory applied decal is seen in relief beneath it. The decals rate at 99%. The paint rates at 99%. The liner is a 1937 dated non-re-enforced type. The chinstrap is maker marked and dated 1938. Overall a very attractive early helmet with all original early components. ON HOLD
NEW! Item # 709 M42 Single decal army helmet
This is a nice example of what I call the "quintessential German combat helmet". It is a Ckl66 M42 shell with 95% paint and 95% decal. The decal is a textbook ET/Ckl pattern. The liner and strap show moderate wear and age. The chinstrap has been period shortened about an inch to remove excess. ordinarily I would keep this helmet myself but I have about 10 ET/Ckl SD armys already and one has to draw the line somewhere. I guarantee you'll love this one as much as I do. ON HOLD
NEW! Item # 710 M35 army helmet shell
This ET62 helmet has had reproduction decals applied to it. Normally I would just strip the helmet and restore it but the paint on this one is original and I just cannot see myself doing that. There is also a nice 1939 dated original acceptance stamp inside the dome. Makes a great display. SOLD
Item # 704 M38 paratrooper helmet
This is an original M38 paratrooper helmet shell and the bolts stand a good chance of being original as well. But in my opinion, that is where the originality ends. The decal, paint, liner and strap are top-notch reproductions that have been very convincingly aged. The shell is a later war ET68 marked at the rear. A very attractive helmet which makes a perfect representative piece. SOLD
Item # 700 M42 Waffen SS helmet, well named
This is a very nice example of an EF produced SS helmet. The decal is a textbook example of the rarely encountered EF style and remains 94% intact. The paint rates at 95%. The liner is intact and sound. maker marked/sized EF66 at the rear. The helmet is ID'd by a written name in the liner to SS-Obersharfuhrer Richard Weifrier. It seems that Weifrier also wrote down his date of birth as well as his unit "3. SS U.S.R.". This unit designation stands for the 3rd kompanie of the SS Unterfuhrershule at Radolfzell which was organized late in the war as "SS regiment Sattler; named after its commander; Knight's cross recipient SS Obersturmbannfuhrer karl Sattler. The regiment saw heavy action in the Colmar pocket in November 1944. Overall a very interesting ID'd SS combat helmet. SOLD
Item # 701 M42 Kriegsmarine helmet
Here is a nice example of a late war EF produced KM helmet. (the majority of post 1940 KM helmets appear to have been produced by EF) The decal is a textbook "thin-wing" type manufactured by Huber-Jorden & Koerner. It has the typical white underlay which shows through in the damaged areas of the decal. Both paint and dceal rate at 96%. The helmet is maker/size marked EF62 at the side. The liner shows only moderate wear. The chinstrap is well marked with RB number. ON HOLD
Item # 702 M40 army helmet
Here is a helmet which appears to have been around the block. It was originally factory finished as a single decal army but the decal was removed as per 1943 specifications. The finish shows considerable wear as does the liner. The chinstrap has been broken on both ends. named in the liner. If this one could only talk.... SOLD
NEW! Item # 703 M1940 canvas pith helmet
I love canvas pith helmets. (And you should too). This is a non maker marked example which good intact leather trim and a sound liner. The insignias are original to the helmet. This one has an "attic-fresh" appearance and is a vet-bring-back as opposed to one of the post-war imports. I guarantee you'll love it. SOLD
Item # 697 NEW! M42 helmet w/ camouflage strap
Most likely the camouflage strap is not original to this helmet. But it came with it so I am leaving it with it. The strap is machine sewn using a bread bag strap. The helmet is a Ckl 64 with a 4000 range lot number. The acceptance stamp is clearly visible inside the dome. SOLD
Item # 685 M40 combat police helmet
This M40 helmet is maker/size marked SE64 on the inside rim. The 7000 lot number denotes probable assembly in 1941. The paint rates at 95% while the insignias remain 95% intact. The liner shows moderate wear and has darkened a bit. it remains completely intact. The chinstrap is not complete but is just as found. This helmet was sourced from the veterans family this month and has not been in a collection yet. Price $1650.00
Item # 680 M40 Army helmet
This M40 shell is maker size marked EF64 on the inside rim at wearers left. The wartime textured paint rates at 95%. The decal is an ET style (manufactured by Emil Juttner) which is textbook correct for a wartime EF helmet. Intact liner and a named inside skirt. ON HOLD
