NEW! Item 417 M42 Waffen SS helmet

Here is one of the nicer examples of an M42 SS helmet made by Ckl in mid-1943. The decal is a textbook example of the ET/Ckl pattern and remains 97% intact. The painted finish is in like condition. Overall the helmet exterior shows just the right amount of wear; evenly dispersed so as not to cause any unsightly spots. The liner is intact and sound. The original chinstrap is RB numbered. The drawstring is lacking. Overall quite nice. ON HOLD

NEW! Item 418 M18 imperial German helmet

This one has rested upon my own collection shelf for the last 10 years. One of the most difficult to find helmets of the 1916-1918 period; a complete example of an M18 with liner and strap. The shell is a Bell-L maker sized 64. The paint rates at 90%. The liner pads are chrome tanned white leather and are completely intact with no pull-throughs to the fingers. The pillows are still inside the pockets. The liner pins are all sturdy and sound. The M18 carbine hook chinstrap is intact and sound with only some very minor crackling on the tanned side of the leather. The inside of the rear rim is marked with the AK inspector stamp and shell size. Would be quite difficult to upgrade.  ON HOLD

NEW! Item 419 M42 Quist made helmet

This is a rare example of an M42 helmet manufactured by F.W. Quist; Esslingen a.N. Very little is known as to why Quist never changed over their production lines to manufacture the M42. The examples that are seen today are generally very late in quality and many have an unusual paint. This one has a very dark grey paint which is period applied but doesn't resemble the finish of most military contract helmets. The liner has a bit of dry rot which effects several of the fingers. The chinstrap is broken at the buckle end. $1000.00

Item 318 M40 single decal Waffen SS helmet

This is an SS helmet with just enough wear to give it charecter. The shell is an ET62. The paint rates at 92%. The decal is a textbook ET pattern and remains 92% intact. The liner shows moderate wear. The helmet is named at the rear skirt; "Mehl". The chinstrap is original but has been added to the helmet. Price REDUCED!!! $5875.00

Item 411 M18 early transition helmet

This helmet is a great one. It has been in my collection for about 5-6 years and it appears as one of those profiled in my book "Germany's combat helmets" pages 192-195. This helmet is an example of one of the earliest third Reich transitions. The shell has been painted over by brush with the "new spec" feldgrau paint; perhaps as early as 1934. The decals are early types which resemble the C.A Pocher design. This is before factory-specific heer decals existed. The liner is a 1931 dated aluminum non-re-enforced. The chinstrap is an early type which makes use of the M18 style carbine hook closure snap. Not many of these helmets have survived in this condition. SOLD

Item 412 M35 single decal army helmet

This Quist M35 is a late assembled one ( Early 1940) which has not had the national color shield applied.  The M35 spec smooth texture paint remains correct for this period. The helmet has a textbook Quist army decal and a decent liner. It appears that the front tow split-pins have been touched up. This could either have been period done or post-war. Overall a good example of an early single decal helmet. $600.00

 Item 413 M42 army helmet

Personally I love M42 Heer helmets; with or without decals. This Hkp66 has a great "been-there" appearance as well as a "fresh out of the attic" look. SOLD

Item 414 M16 Imperial combat helmet

This ET66 M16 helmet still retains decent paint coverage as well as most of it's original M17 liner. One of the liner pins seems to be missing a prong. SOLD

Item 416 M40 Luftwaffe helmet; former snow camo

This Luftwaffe M40 helmet has it's decal period painted over. The helmet was later painted over in white camo; the vast majority of which has worn off. The liner is less than good. Overall a pretty neat combat helmet priced for the collector on a budget. SOLD

Item 358 M40 combat police helmet

This is a fairly rare example of a re-issue police helmet. The shell has textured paint on both exterior and interior indicting that the helmet was most likely stripped and repainted at a refurbishing facility. The shell size is 64 but the maker mark is obscured by the textured paint inside. The police decal and party shield resemble those found on 42-43 era Quist helmets. The paint rates at 95%. The liner shows moderate wear/age. Overall a very solid example. $1200.00 REDUCED!!! $1000.00

Item 405 M35 Double decal SS helmet

A worn but decent example of a very rare helmet; the M35 double decal Waffen SS. This is a Q64 shell with textbook Quist runic decal and party shield. The paint rates at 80% while the decals remain 75 intact. All components are original to the helmet and are in matching condition. $8500.00

Item 408 M18 West Prussian state helmet

This is a late 1918 produced m16 helmet with M17 steel framed liner. The helmet was used post WW1 by provincial Reichswehr units from the state of west Prussia. A black/white/black state color insignia was hand rendered to the wearers right side. The helmet is in excellent overall condition with very nice liner pads being made from grey tanned leather. The drawstring is a very rare original WW1 example of the three strand linen type. Price; $1250.00

 Item 409 M18 Reichsheer helmet

Here is a real beauty. The M18 helmet shell was refurbished during the 1934 period just before the advent of Third Reich insignia. The national tri-color shield is hand rendered on the left side of the helmet. The liner is a beautiful 1931 dated Schuberthwerke M31 with a 1933 dated carbine hook chinstrap. For early helmets, they do not come nicer than this one. Overall a superior example. $1750.00

Item 368 M16 Austrian rework for Police or SS

This is a great example of one of the 1930s "small shop" refurbishments; meaning a type of helmet that was re-worked for government contract by some small company which only made a few hundred (or thousand). This one is an Austrian shell that was was refurbed using an early three pad liner. The chinstrap is an M91 style which was mounted onto the M17 style Austrian chinstrap bales. The helmet as originally painted in green but was later over-painted in dark grey for use by the police, Gendarmerie or SS parade. Note: this one should not be confused with the standard 1930s Austrian rural gendarme helmet as those were produced specially with new shells and contemporary components. A great helmet with an interesting past. ON HOLD

Item 343 M40 Waffen SS helmet

Here is another helmet with that "Just out of the attic" look. It has dust and storage evidence in all the right places. The shell is a Q 68 with a size 60 liner. The wartime textured paint rates at 97%. The decal has some minor abrasion which lends a lot of character to this piece. The chinstrap is composed of only the long portion and the steel buckle which had become separated from the short leather strap and connected as seen in the photos. No guessing as to when it was done. But it has been left alone as has every other aspect of this helmet. $6850.00

Item 392 M16 Imperial Austrian helmet

This is one of the nicest condition original Austrian helmets which I have seen or had. Among Austrian helmets this one is an extremely rare maker; the maker mark being a star which appears under the left chinstrap bale. The brown paint rates at 97%. The liner is intact and sound. The correct cloth chinstrap is in near perfect condition. Would be very difficult to upgrade this one. $1600.00 REDUCED!! $1300.00

Item 381 M38 no decal paratrooper helmet

This one has it all if one is looking for a helmet just out of the attic. The paint remains 95% intact with nice rough texture and a matte finish unaffected by handling wear. The bolts are late war mixed vented and non vented slot types. Such bolt mixtures were quite typical at this stage of the game and in fact have not been removed or altered in this specimen. The leather of the liner is superb. Pads are intact. The straps are pliable and show nice color. One has been cut at the rear side. You'll not find such an honest appearing helmet very often. $5000.00

Item 396 US M1 fixed bale helmet w/tan camouflage

This early fixed bale helmet has had a coat of tropical tan paint applied to the exterior. I cannot say when it was done or for which theater. ( I am not sure whether or not such things were done in North Africa '42-43) The straps are not present. $200.00

Item 369 M35 Double decal army helmet

Here is a Double decal army helmet that looks like it has been around the block a little but is 100% honest and complete. The light shade feldgrau paint remains 85% intact as do the decals. The liner is intact and sound. The steel lot number dates this helmet to 1938. The chinstrap appears to be original to the helmet but is dated 1936.  ON HOLD

 Item 316 Helmet display goggles

Everybody should have at least one set of these. They are the standard leather framed dust goggles as issued to infantrymen for those long marches in the east where the tanks and vehicles were kicking up the dust on those delightful Russian roads. This example is in excellent condition and still contained in the original leatherette package. (The helmet in the above photo is not included) $135.00
