Item # 467 NEW! M42 Single decal Army helmet
Here is a very nice specimen of the quintessential WW2 German helmet: The M42 single decal army. The shell is maker/size marked ET66 at wearers left. The wartime textured paint rates at 92% and shows good color with minimal handling wear or patina. The decal is a textbook ET style and rates likewise at 92%. The wartime steel liner band has it's maker/date markings obscured by dirt build-up. The multi-piece leather shows moderate use and is completely intact and sound. The chinstrap appears to be original to the helmet as it's condition is the same as the liner. Overall a great example. M42 single decal army helmets are among my favorites; I have a dozen of them in my own collection and this is about as nice as any of them. Price $1050.00
Item # 466 NEW! M1940 Luftwaffe Tropical Pith helmet
This is an excellent condition example of a rare pith helmet. The cork body is in flawless condition with no crushed or misshapen spots. The tan canvas is completely intact and all stitches are sound. The leather trim is in excellent condition with no dry rot or scuffing. The chinstrap is completely sound. The helmet bears a silver colored metal Luftwaffe eagle and matching national color shield. There are some extra holes around the prongs of the national color shield so it should be assumed that it was replaced. The size 55 sweatband is not dated but is clearly maker marked by a Dresden maker. Overall a top-shelf example. Price $875.00
Item # 465 NEW! M40 single decal Luftwaffe helmet
This gigantic M40 helmet is maker/size marked ET68 on the inside at wearers left. Both paint and decal are 95% intact. The eagle decal shows very good detail. The steel liner band is faintly marked 1941. The leather of the size 61 liner is multi-piece construction and shows moderate wear. When this helmet was obtained, there were no washers installed onto the split-pins. Since then, a matching set of original washers have been installed. Overall a decent example in a large size. Price $665.00
Item # 464 NEW! Gladiator style Luftschutz helmet
This is a fairly early Luftschutz helmet with the decal on the inside rear just below the Reichsluftschutz ministry stamping. The front decal and paint are 96% intact. The split-pins retain little of their original paint. The liner and chinstrap are completely intact showing only moderate wear. A nice example of one of the most affordable German helmets on the market. Price $235.00
Item # 461 NEW! M40 single decal army helmet
Here's a nice M40 NS 64 with 90% wartime textured paint and about 80% eagle. The liner shows honest wear and is completely intact. The date on the steel liner band cannot be read. I believe that at least one of the split-pins shows minor evidence of bending so it is possible that the liner was out at one time. But I believe that the liner and strap are original to the helmet. The strap has been cut about an inch short to remove the slack. Overall a nice looking helmet Price $750.00
Item # 462 NEW! M42 Single decal Kriegsmarine helmet
This is a decent M42 KM helmet which is maker marked EF64 on the inside rim at left. (The EF maker is the most prevelant maker of M42 KM helmets so this one is basically textbook) The wartime textured feldgrau rates at 98%. The Decal is the classic mid-war thin-wing eagle type which is unmistakably Navy. It shows damage from flaking which is very commonly seen in KM M42s. The liner band date is not readable. The leather of the liner is in very nice condition. The chinstrap is marled as made by FTB but the date is not discernible. Overall and good example of a righteous Kriegsmarine helmet. ** ON HOLD **
Item # 463 NEW! M40 Double decal police helmet
A helmet with great decals. These rate among my favorites. This M40 helmet is maker/size marked SE66 on the inside rim at left. The smooth texture "Police feldgrau" paint rates at 80% with some areas reflecting signs of a long-ago clean-job. The decals are textbook SE types used on all their M40 Police helmets. The split-pins are marked and dated 1940. The wartime steel liner band is dated 1942. The leather is of multi-piece construction which is commonly seen in liners beginning in the mid-war years. The chinstrap does not appear to be marked. Overall a super display helmet. ** SOLD **
Item # 460 NEW! M16 Camo "Square dip" helmet
This is a good example of the ultra rare "square dip" M16 helmet. The first run of M16 helmets produced at the ET factory in the spring of 1916 had an unusually squared appearance of the front visor dip. Helmets were produced like this only in size 64 and only for a few weeks. Most of the helmets from this first run were rushed to the front to be issued to troops taking part in the assault on Verdun. Most of them were lost either during the battle or in the years immediately following. Today; surviving examples are extremely rare and are very seldom encountered. This example has an early non-bordered camouflage pattern painted (probably in the spring of 1918) over the exterior; of which 90% remains intact. The liner band is present but the pads have sadly been lost. The shell is maker marked ET64 on the inside rim at wearers left. Even with the absence of the liner pads, this helmet is one which would serve as the corner stone of any collection. ** ON HOLD **
Item # 456 NEW! M18 "transition" Luftwaffe helmet
One of the rarest examples of any Third Reich era helmet that I have ever offered. This m18 helmet is one of the first re-issues furbished during the transitional period of 1934-1935. The Luftwaffe eagle decal is the earliest known style that is also found on proto-type and private purchase helmets of the period. just before the advent of the M35 series helmets. This example shows fairly inexpert application. It has been coated over with lacquer as has the national color shield. The paint is blue-gray hand-brushed and is painted on the inside as well although it stops at the liner band. The split-pins in the front are the earliest Third Reich era variants composed of a single piece head which is spot welded to the prongs much like the old style WW1 types. The split-pin at the rear of the helmet is the M31 type which although not matching in construction to the two front pins, it bears the same original applied paint and is without doubt original to the helmet. The liner is a 1931 dated Schuberthwerk product with the die-stamp size marking on the leather. The shell itself still bears the original WW1 maker marking "Si66". Any Luftwaffe transition helmet is very difficult to find. This one is still more special as it is a true example of one of the very first Third-Reich transitions. ** ON HOLD **
Item # 459 NEW! M35 Double decal Luftwaffe helmet, Fighter squadron marked
This early Double decal Luftwaffe helmet is unit ID marked to Kampfgeschwader 155. ( see this website for detailed history of this fighter group: http://www.ww2.dk/air/kampf/kg155.html ) The shell is maker/size marked Q62. The early blue-grey finish rates at 85%. The droop-tail eagle decal has surface wear but remains 85% intact. The national color shield rates at 90%. The 1938 dated liner is the aluminum re-inforced type and the leather shows wear but remains intact and sound. The chinstrap is original to the helmet (see detail photo showing the aluminum residue on the strap near where it connects to the chinstrap bales) The chinstrap has had the end-stud of the long section moved in order to adjust the size. This was done in favor of the more normal practice of simply cutting the tip of the chinstrap short. The chinstrap is the correct brown leather type which is found on early luftwaffe helmets. Overall condition is good. 100% Unmolested, this is a fine example of a fighter sqadron helmet from the pre-war years. ** SOLD **
Item # 458 NEW! M35 double decal police helmet
This M35 police/gendarme helmet is maker/size marked NS64 on the inside rim at wearers left. The early smooth texture green paint remains 85% intact. The insignias are likewise 85%. The liner is an aluminum re-inforced type which is dated 1943 making it possible that the liner has been changed either wartime or post war. The leather is in very good condition and there is a 1938 dated acceptance stamp inside the dome. The chinstrap is in likewise very good condition and is maker marked and dated 1942. Overall a nice example priced at a figure that won't break the bank. ** SOLD**
